About Dancing Without Limits
Dancing Without Borders is a newly formed non-profit association that evolved from Lillis Ballroom , the first inclusive dance studio for sighted, visually impaired and non-sighted people and also has its official headquarters in Lillis Ballroom.
The association, whose activities are not aimed at making a profit, aims to deal with the topics of barrier-free dance, dance mediation, pedagogy and communication in a holistic manner. Since the founding of Lillis Ballroom in 2016, an inclusive method for teaching Latin American couple dances for sighted, blind and visually impaired people has been developed. Dancing Without Borders builds on the extensive dance and inclusion know-how developed by Lillis Ballroom.
Dancing Without Limits was born out of a need to bring the questions of inclusion and accessibility in dance to the general public.
Since the dance classes in Lillis Ballroom are mainly about social dance with all the senses, Dancing Without Limits has made it its mission to enable different, direct encounters with inclusion. We hope to reach people in all levels of society and to raise awareness.
Dancing Without Limits and Lillis Ballroom are closely connected and continue to develop hand in hand. Together, we want to create an environment that enables everyone to reach their full potential.
